Last week, the SensioLabs and Symfony team was in Palma, Mallorca for the Ibexa Global Partner Conference 2024. Ibexa, a DXP solution based on Symfony, brought together their partners for 2 days of conferences and exchange on their roadmap. Symfony was a sponsor. Read our review of the event in this article.
Ibexa, a preferred partner of SensioLabs and Symfony
First of all, what is Ibexa? Part of the QNTM Group, Ibexa (formerly EZ Publish) is one of the leading DXP solutions on the market. Ibexa offers a single, unified platform for creating and optimizing your digital channels. A true driver of digital transformation, Ibexa is used by companies as diverse as Crédit Agricole, Swissport, Visit Andorra, etc.
Ibexa is built on Symfony: the solution is based on 32 Symfony components (HTTPClient, Flex, Validator, Form, Mime, etc.). In fact, Symfony and Ibexa (formerly known as EZ Publish) started their partnership in July 2012. Thanks to this partnership, Ibexa supports the Symfony community. Like at the last SymfonyCon Brussels 2023, where Ibexa was a Gold Sponsor.
The Ibexa Global Partner Conference was the perfect opportunity to celebrate and strengthen the partnership between Ibexa, SensioLabs and Symfony.
Day 1: Focus on Ibexa
At the beginning of the new year, our team left the cold of Paris to fly to Palma de Mallorca in the Balearic Islands. We participated in a 2-day conference. At this event, SensioLabs attended with Symfony as a sponsor and speaker.
The Ibexa Global Partner Conference was held at the Palma Convention Center. It is a large conference center with a breathtaking view of the sea. The conference kicked off with an opening keynote by Nicole Gadja, Ibexa’s Marketing Director. This was followed by several sessions presenting Ibexa’s new features and the product roadmap for 2024.
At the end of the day, the Ibexa Partner Excellence Awards 2024 were held. Every year, Ibexa rewards its partners who have achieved remarkable success with Ibexa. The ceremony started with a real show, with music and dancers on stage. During the ceremony, Symfony had the honor of presenting the award for Best Technical Implementation of the Year 2024 prize to our colleagues at Smile for the Pierre Fabre project. Congratulations to them!
At the end of the ceremony, shuttle buses took us to the gala dinner. We enjoyed the evening together in a magnificent setting.
Day 2: SensioLabs and Symfony, speakers at the conference
The next day was dedicated to partners. Ludovic Duval, Managing Director of SensioLabs, and Nicolas Grekas, Principal Core Team at Symfony, each gave a presentation on Symfony 7.
Nicolas Grekas began with a presentation titled: “Embracing the Future with Symfony 7”.
In the ever-evolving landscape of web development, staying ahead with robust and cutting-edge tools is paramount. Symfony 7, the latest iteration of the foundational PHP framework, continues to push the boundaries of efficiency, performance, and flexibility. In his presentation, Nicolas introduced the key innovations of Symfony 7. He then discussed the new features, enhancements and integrations that make Symfony 7 a powerful tool for developers.

Ludovic Duval then presented the topic “Why should Ibexa developers take the Symfony 7 Certification exam?”
During his presentation, Ludovic explained the benefits for a developer working for Ibexa to train on Symfony and achieve the Symfony certification. Thanks to the Symfony certification, Ibexa partners have their technical level recognized in the ecosystem. For this reason, SensioLabs offers developers and companies using Ibexa the opportunity to prepare for the Symfony certification.
